Money can't buy happiness, that's true. But getting a thoughtful gift from my momma- in- law for my kitchen sure made my day last week.
She knows how much I love Anthropologie's latte bowls so when they made a trip to NY City to visit some relatives she popped into a store there with me in mind. Imagine her joy when she found some of these lovelies in the clearance section!
You may think that, regardless of how inexpensive these can be snatched up for, they are a waste of money. I don't agree. They're dishwasher & microwave safe and everyone in my house prefers these over any other bowl that sits in our cupboard. So we're slowly replacing the others with these.
In other random news, we've been spending a lot of time at my in-laws lately.Eric has been busy tearing out & rebuilding this divider wall so that their new refrigerator actually fits in the space of the old one. That old wall is completely gone, he ran all new electrical and framed and dry-walled the new wall. We just need to go back to mud and sand it (three times) before painting.
Dare I say out loud that they're planning to remodel the kitchen(hopefully this summer) and the old cabinets have been promised to us? Does this make me a happy lady?
You bet it does!
We've already got plans to close off one of the (FIVE) doorways in our kitchen and run cabinetry along the only full wall in my kitchen.
The cabinets will be painted, hardware replaced, subway tile(that we scored at a Re-Store for only $7!) put in, etc... If I talk about it I will drive you crazy, I'm sure.
My Pinterest Kitchens board pinning is out of control right now.
I've been waiting for this ever since we moved in nine years ago.
Have you been up to any projects lately?
