I've never shown much of our master bedroom before because, to be honest with you, its not been that great of a space. We overhauled this room when we moved in nine years ago and I picked out the paint color painstakenly. Now I'm over it. But to my defense, it has been almost ten years people.Even Eric thinks its just too dark. We'll see what happens. It may never change until we sell the house but for now, I'm all about making it work for now.Which is how this mini makeover began.
This is how our room looked about a year ago. BO-Ring!
Around Christmas time 2011 our bed area looked like this. Still basic and boring, right?
The framed piece on the wall came from Eric's grandparents. A man gave it to them when they lived in Germany many years ago and they passed it down to us. Its a hand-drawn German village scene.
I'd fallen in love with all the gallery walls I've seen in blog land and on Pinterest and thought I'd try one of my own. I know this is nothing super fancy or magazine-worthy, but that's not what matters to me. I just wanted something different, something that filled the huge wall space better, and something that made me happy. So I went for it.
I added an antique mirror from my mama, a free printable (You are my Happily Ever After), and blew up a picture I took of the San Juan Capistrano Mission that I visited with this sweet friend back in September.
And in my true form, it's already different again:
I moved the Suzani print sham into the guest room and added these fun geometric print pillows I scored from a VeryJane deal about a month ago. I like the pop of color they bring to our bed.
So there you have it: a mini master bedroom makeover.
Have a great day!
