Random Saturday Rambling

 Does anyone else feel like the weeks are just flying by? I sure do. I find myself measuring life by the breaks we have from school. And they're coming and going by so quickly I can hardly keep up. We only have 35 school days left!
 I'll also be completely transparent here in telling you that I panicked this morning when I realized that this next month I'll be another year closer to 40. I've never stressed about my age or getting older but for some reason it hit me hard(and I'm still closer to 30 than I am the big 4-0 so this seems ridiculous, even to me).
 We have resorted to locking this little guy OUT of our rooms at night. Until he's ready to settle down and sleep, he just runs around like the crazy kitten he still is, knocking things over and batting things around the room, keeping us awake.
 Little sister hasn't been feeling the best lately. I know she's going through a growth spurt but she's also just been "off" the past couple of days.
 Do you see a pattern here? This is totally not like her. If you know her in real life you know that this kid never stops.
 Oh how I love color. And texture. And floral pins. I have quite the collection and wear them all the time.
 Speaking of texture, check out the new rug I scored from a friend who stages homes. She's paring down on what she keeps in storage and is having a huge clean-out sale this weekend. I was good and only came home with this. But seriously when you see pairs of lamps for $20, furniture and accessories priced to sell galore, its hard to walk away with only one item.
{I'm soooo over all these neutrals. We're hoping to paint the living room sometime this summer}
  The funny thing is, last night the girls and I had a movie night while we waited for daddy to get home from track practice. All they wanted to do was lay on this rug and rub their hands over it. Weird, I know but it made me laugh. Simple things entertain us here.
 It may not stay in this spot but for now we're liking the change. Even Eric loves it.
And speaking of track season, this is usually when the girls and I get a lot of bonding time each year. Eric has always been a coach so its just a part of our lives each spring. But this year, he's the head coach so we see even less of him. In fact, he's already left the house today for the first away meet. And its only 9 am.
He also took the car so we're stuck going to take it easy at home.
I guess we'll be getting some weekly cleaning done and maybe even bake cake pops together. We got a cake pop pan for Christmas from a family friend and the girls and I have been anxious to try it out. Sounds like a good activity for a cold, rainy day, right?

Hi Sarah,

Track coach?! And the head coach, to boot?! Congratulations! I know it is a TON of work as our older two are both in track. Thankfully the eldest drives so he takes care of their transportation!!

The rug is simply gorgeous! What a great find!!

Did you get my e-mails? The 2nd one in particular? Just let me know what you think, okay? Right now I think a good honest review would be more valuable to me as I determine pricing, improvements, etc. I feel honored to think you would even be interested as you are quite the seamstress yourself!

Enjoy your day of making cake pops and I hope your younger daughter perks up soon. Growth spurts can be so hard on their little bodies!

Have a wonderful weekend!
