As you know, I dont usually post here on the weekends. But today is an exception. There is alot going on here and I wanted to pop in and announce the UPrinting giveaway winner!
Before we do that, take a look at this tree in our backyard. Check out the size of it, mkay?
This is where the girls spent all morning, peering out of an upstairs window...
...watching him, a friend of ours from New Hampshire, work his "tree magic." Did you know there was such a thing? Well, I can assure you there is. We've been in awe at watching this beast(the tree, I mean) come down. And Dave just climbed up there like Spiderman with a chainsaw, bless his heart(though I told him he looks more like Rambo).
Here he is after cutting 3/4 of it down...and hes still pretty high up there. I kept thanking the Lord above that my husband chose teaching as a profession. Id be a nervous wreck if my husband did this for a living.
With Dave and Eric(hubby) working together, they had this sucker down by 2:30. I had just enough time to feed the lumberjacks a late lunch then fly over to the soccer fields for the big girl's first game of the new season.
This is her 2nd year playing soccer. She is quick to announce that she hates the practices, loves the games. Haha, good times.
And now we're back home, finally taking it a little easy for the first time all week. But not Eric. He and Dave have now left to go cut down trees for some other mutual friends of ours from church. I am always in awe at how wonderfully a church body can work together. God is good! (And now my backyard looks alot bigger...just perfect for the deck Ive been asking hubby for for years now:))
As for the big winner of the UPrinting Giveaway...
Faith... come on down! You'll have to use at least one of those 500 pieces of letterhead to send me a letter from Minnesota! Congratulations! I'll shoot you an email.
Have a wonderful weekend friends!
xo,
Sarah

Oh, your tree!!! Can't believe it's gone. It sure will make a difference in the backyard!!
Congrats to Faith!! (We miss you)
and the quilt is AMAZING!! Beautiful. Great job!
I had mixed feelings about cutting it down at first Susan. But once it was down, Dave was able to tell us that if it was dying and once it started to go, it would come down right on the house. So I have no regrets at this point:)
That should've said It WAS Dying. Apparently I cant spell:)
